Something I have been working on lately is letting light be light.
When I’m editing, I have a habit of pushing my exposure higher and higher - removing as many shadows and highlights as I could, to create a more "even" photo.
Something in the back of my head hated the idea of having a dark, hard-to-see image.
But the more I work, the more I realize that shadows can be so beautiful.
The light plays and moves across her face here in the most natural and elegant way.
I always used to hear other photographers say "play with light" but I think I like it more when the light plays with me.
